On every 3 November Japan celebrates Culture Day ('bunka no hi' in Japanese), a day to recognise the beauty and richness of the country's unique culture.
When I think of culture in Japan, I associate it with craftsmanship - as there are countless examples of the highest order to be found throughout the country.
While the resort town of Hakone, in Kanagawa Prefecture, may be most famous for its luxurious hot springs and stunning views of Mt Fuji, it's also well known for its intricate marquetry, called Hakone Yosegi zaiku「箱根寄木細工」,which dates back to the Edo Period.
What aspect of Japanese culture brings you the most joy?
